New Car Kia Picanto Review


2012 Kia Picanto was presented in 2011 Geneva Motor Show Kia a few months ago. But already the first draft product launches are beginning to be either shown or revealed. The latter is a new small car called the Kia Picanto. Although the current Kia Picanto is available only in five-door sedan, the new generation version will be offered as a global sporting body with five doors, while three doors will also be marketed in Europe. Conceived as a rival of the little Toyota iQ, the new Picanto on sale in Europe in the second half of the year and may even reach the U.S. soon after as a means to help achieve Kia rules CAFE. The last pictures show a design similar to the Toyota iQ, but with enough elements to bring out on their own.




The new model was designed by the team Kia’s European design based in Frankfurt, Germany, under the direction of chief designer Peter Schreyer. Completely redesigned for 2012, the Kia Picanto has gained in length and wheelbase compared to its predecessor, with a lot of sculptures and a line of great importance to have a look to higher premiums. Also his debut with the new generation is a sporty three-door model sold in Europe. The rest of the world becomes the regular five-door hatchback only. Four different engines available in the global range of the Picanto, with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.2 liter flex-fuel capacity.
